Mission

Dedicated to representing the Patrol Officers for the City of Gloucester in matters. relating to, affecting, or arising out of employment relations or with respect to all matters relating to hours, wages and conditions of employment.

Our work involves

Submitting grievances relating to violations of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Attending bargaining sessions to negotiate successor agreements. Bringing to arbitration grievance matters which are not resolved at the Mayors level, and filing Unfair Labor Practices with the Massachusetts Labor Relation Commission when violations of Chapter 150E occur.

Know your rights

An employee shall not be required or requested, directly
or indirectly, to submit to interrogation which could lead to
disciplinary action or which he reasonably may expect could lead
to such action, without his first being entitled to be
represented by a Union representative and counsel, if he so
requests. In such event, the interrogation shall be postponed so
that a Union representative and counsel may be present, not
later than 10 a.m. of the third day following the scheduled day
for the interrogation, unless a later date is mutually agreed
upon. Counsel, if available and a Union representative may be
present during the interrogation of said employee, and may be
participants in such proceeding.
An employer request that an employee submit a written report
shall constitute "interrogation" for the purposes of this
section, in which event the employee shall not be required to
submit said report until forty-eight (48) hours after such
request, unless a later date is mutually agreed upon.

In an effort to provide quality traffic detail services the GPPA has established a notification system which will allow us to bring back to our members concerns from the public. Please note this program is not affiliated with the administration. There will be no disciplinary action associated with the reporting. This is simply comments we will read off at meetings. Hoping to improve the overall quality and perception of paid traffic details.
