Collective Bargaining Update
Following a meeting on
November 1, 2006 we felt
positive that an agreement was near and
a fair and mutually beneficial resolution was attainable. We were
told that
we would hear from the City within
one week.
- One last good faith effort has been
presented to City Hall on May 3, 2007 simply asking for the same
raise as all other public safety unions. It almost mirrors the
GSOA settlement completely. Hopefully personal feelings don't
get in the way of an agreement. Going on five years without
giving your communities Police Officers a contract is (for lack
of a better term) absurd.
- The GPPA is pleased to announce that after
more than five years without a contract one has been funded. The
Mayors office has finally identified were the funding will come
from.
The
GPPA Executive Board are firm believer's in First Amendment Rights
to the US Constitution and will not be intimidated by those who seek
to prevent those rights from being exercised!!!
